Houston Galleria and Uptown District
With it's stylish appeal and modern amenities, Uptown includes some of Houston's most prominent businesses and affluent subdivisions. The area features some of Houston's best urban attractions such as the 64-story Williams Tower and Waterwall. The Uptown District, also know as the "Galleria" area is home to the largest shopping mall in Texas. Houston's Uptown District is a haven for trendy shopping, fine dining and upscale entertainment.

Houston Galleria Shopping Mall
This picture shows part of the Nordstom anchor buildings on Hidalgo Street. These are some of the many structures that make Houston's Galleria shopping complex, the largest mall in Texas. The Williams Tower (formerly the Transco Tower) stands gracefully in the background of the image.

Williams Waterwall
This image shows the beautifully illuminated Williams Waterwall just after sunset. The Waterwall was built as an architectural accent to the Williams Tower and has become a famous landmark in Uptown Houston.

Williams Tower - A Houston Landmark
Since 1983, the Williams Tower has elegantly graced the Uptown Houston skyline as a pillar of strength. The building was designed by famed architect Philip Johnson and was originally designated the Transco Tower. The Tower stands at 901 feet tall and comprised of 64 stories. After sunset, a 7,000 watt beacon brilliantly rotates atop the structure.

The Galleria in Houston
For the ultimate shopping experience in Houston, the Galleria mall is the place to be. With nearly 400 stores, this retail store and hotel complex is one of the largest in the United States. Anchor stores include Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. The photo shows a promenade crossing West Alabama Street with the Williams Tower in the background.
